Equine Rescue France  Horse resuce centres.

Based in the South West (Depts 24, 16 and 86), Equine Rescue France offers advice and support for English speakers facing equine welfare issues. Working with key UK charities, ERF are able to campaign for welfare improvements, whether enforcing existing legislation or campaigning for  change. By forging links with the key French associations, ERF are able to support their work as well as to instigate local actions.

Based in Brittany and came into existence after the local shelter closed down. The website offers a wealth of information on the work the centre does and the adoption process.

 

 

SOUTH FRANCE

SPA Dog Rescue Carcassonne.

The aim of this site is to help to find good homes for dogs currently at the Spa Refuge in Carcassonne. 

I am an English volunteer at Carcassonne.  I spend several afternoons a week there walking, grooming and socialising as many dogs as possible, together with other volunteers who join me when they can. As a result, I am familiar with all the dogs at the refuge, their characters, backgrounds, special needs and circumstances. 

 

 Dog Links   is a group, based in France, that facilitates connections between people and dogs. We try to make three things possible for dogs in need:    Foster homes - Temporary homes for dogs waiting for UK passports -  permanent homes. Lots of info about other rescue centers.

 Chats du Quercy  is a French registered charity based in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France and run entirely by volunteers.  Our dedicated Cat Rescue and Rehoming Centre is situated in Miramont de Quercy, in the department of the Tarn et Garonne.  Our objective is simple, to help cats in need.

 

 Phoenix Animal Rescue, Dordogne
Offers re-homing of abused and abandoned animals, but also works alongside local veterinary practices and has a helpline service

.Animal Aid Saint Aubin, Poitou-Charentes
Looks after stray cats and dogs, before trying to help find a new home for them, also offers advice on what you can do if you find an animal.

Poor Paws, Lot
Offers assistance for people looking to adopt an animal, not a refuge but works with the rescue centre in the area to help find willing helpers and owners.

The SPA (Sauver Protéger Aimer) does a lot of work in saving animals including adoptions.
